My Story

I was always interested in fashion with a message. Funny sayings, philosophical statements or socially critical texts. In my opinion, fashion is a very underestimated medium for education and information. When you walk through the streets, you come across hundreds of billboards. How many of them do you look at? But what if a person has a sweater or a shirt with a message on it? You automatically look at it or even turn to look at the person. Fashion gives messages a face and makes them personal.
When a person in my family was diagnosed with a terminal illness, the emotional need for morbus atelier instand. A brand that raises awareness about diseases and social problems and motivates people to talk about their individual burdens. That's my way of giving taboo topics a face. Through morbus atelier, I hope to reach people who also want to give their burdens a face.
That is my story. What is yours?

Drawing was the beginning of the morbus atelier project. I never really learned how to draw and tried to teach myself the basics. When I started to express personal problems in drawings, I realized how I started to process them. That's how the idea of turning diseases into drawings and helping other people to process their destinies came about.

What is the mask all about?
Many diseases are not yet accepted in our society or there is no general knowledge about them. Affected people live in shame and are afraid of not being accepted. The mask is intended to symbolize how affected people have to feel and behave in order to be able to participate in our society.

morbus atelier wants to give affected people a stage to tell their personal stories. This raises awareness of the disease in our society and people no longer have to hide under a mask.
